Hey there.

Intruductions and background -- My name is William H. Jordan, and my full fannish "handle" is Logan Darklighter, but I thought that would be a bit cumbersome as a screen name.

I saw Starblazers when it first broadcast in 1979, and have been an active anime fan since 1983. Does that qualify for 'geezer' status around here? ^_^

I am also a fan artist. I used to have a website called "Logan Darklighter's Docking Bay". And I will soon resurrect that site. But for now, you can see my some of my art at --

(Doc Mui? I know I still have a commission pending for you. I haven't forgotten!! Now you can pester me on the boards here about it, as well. ^_^)

I forget exactly _how_ I encountered Eyrie Productions. As to the _when_ though, I can pin it down to about the middle of the production of NXE (halfway through the second movement). NXE got me hooked on the Eyrie style of fanfiction. Although D.J. Croft was slightly irritating early on, he was still an interesting and mostly sympathetic character. And I was constantly fascinated with the strange and somtimes funny things that had been worked into the original Evangelion premise. After I twigged to the idea that this wasn't really so much an Evangelion fanfic as an "Evangelion + everything and the kitshen sink" pastiche/crossover/homage/what-have-you, I really started enjoying it.

And then I started discovering everything else. Especially after the website re-design.

Undocumented features I shied away from reading for the longest time. Mainly because it looked so _DAMN HUGE_ and far flung that it was intimidating. Instead I read some of the other stories first.

I thought the retelling of Oh My Goddess through the WPI lens was suitably whacked out. (LOVED the Gryphon/Urd dance sequence BTW, that was a truly inspired bit of lunacy, that. ^_^)

Warrior's Legacy is truly fun. I love your take on Cammy, BTW. I never thought of her having a Scottish accent, but it would fit, and it's incredibly cute. Are you going to use Chun Li in a future episode?

The In Nomine stuff is fascinating. Both in 45. Caliber Angel and the bits and pieces that have worked their way into NXE. So much so that you, Gryphon, are directly responsible for me picking up the core In Nomine rulebook to find out more background about what you've been talking about all this time and to make more sense of it all. I will probably never play an In Nomine game, but the source materiel is amazing and well worth the read.

Finally, I started reading UF saga a couple of weeks ago. Actually, I had read the very first story about a year and a half ago, but didn't get around to continuing until recently. I sort of came at it from a "bass ackwards" direction though. I was curious as to what Symphony of the Sword was all about. Read the first chapter. Was SERIOUSLY impressed. Must go back and at least read the Core stories from UF to gain perspective. Did that. Read a few more chapters of SOS. Even MORE impressed!! But.. Corwin's mother is Skuld?? Wait a sec. I missed something here. Twilight? Ragnarok? This must be the place. read that. NOW I think I'm caught up. Read the rest of Symphony.

Wow.

Oh wow.

I'm impressed enough with Kaitlyn that I did a portrait sketch of her just the other day. As soon as I can get to a scanner, I'll send it on.

I had been lurking the message boards for awhile. But now I have to register to make some comments. I will be more detailed and specific in other posts elsewhere. But now you know some basics about me and how I got here.

Aside from Doc Mui, the only other Eyrie person I have met face to face is Redneck. The last day after AWA this year, I sat between him and Rob Fenelon and enjoyed getting my neck twisted back and forth following the socio-political-historical discussions!! Hey Overstreet! Remember Ruby Tuesdays? ^_^

Anyway. Ja na for now. I'll be around.

Hmm... and I was over at the Artist's Alley table on the other side of the restaurant with a bunch of people from you at AWA.

Hey, Logan, nice to see you around this neighborhood!

Oh, and thanks again for those links to that turbine-powered cycle. As soon as I get a chance to FTP it, the next update to the DW2 Concordance will include them.
